WINTER CLASSES

2008 marks our 7th year of Pisces Moon Educational Theatre classes for young people, and our 16th year in the classroom through SPECTRA. Our Winter curricula features music theory, writing for publication and other classes that uphold our tradition of having fun while continuing to build confidence and enhance academic and communication skills. Welcome!

I AM POETRY!

Ages 5-8
Cost - $160
taught by Candace Goodwin
Class time: Saturdays 10:00am – 12:00pm
Class starts: Saturday, February 2nd
Class ends: Saturday, March 22nd

Poetry follows us wherever we go. We can find it in the sky, in our motions, the way we talk and the sounds we hear. Students will be able to focus on their own interests, share their ideas, and find exciting ways to use words, rhyme, body movements, characters and sounds to create their own poetry. Each student will create and act out an original piece of poetic performance art. Are you ready to find the poetry inside you?

Faeries, elves, gnomes, unicorns, dragons and mermaids are as ancient as time and have roamed the earth much longer than we have. This workshop is your mythical creatures 101 where you will learn everything you need to know about the invisible/sometimes visible beings that walk the landscapes of our earth and our imaginations. We will try on the personality of our favorite magickal beings, learn to walk, talk, think and act like them. We will create their costumes and have daring and playful adventures as our mythological selves.

Cost - $200
taught by Lara Foy
Class time: Wednesdays 3:30pm – 5:30pm

Put a fantastical book on stage! Neil Gaiman's book Stardust was amazing enough to be turned into a breathtaking movie. We will each become a character from Stardust, and will learn our story well through rehearsals and at-home study of our lines. We will receive and take direction with our acting, blocking, volume, and stage presence. We will put on a terrific performance, and have a lot of fun along the way!
