It’s All In The Timing
Do you want to make people laugh? In this fun-filled class students learn comedic timing in the style of the all-time great comedic actors. They hone the physical, slapstick skills (including how to take a pratfall safely!), the framing of a joke and the delivery of a punch-line for a guaranteed laugh! In the class finale they perform a classic comic routine with other actors for family and friends.
Instructor: Eleni Giannis

Spanish through Theatre
Students learn introductory Spanish through meaningful exercises. They are engaged in in a series of activities structurally organized around Spanish poems, songs and theatrical games. We also incorporate samba, salsa and Flamenco dancing. The program embraces all artistic talents, having children make use of new and recycled materials to create their own props and sets for the production. Our goal is to develop a successful children's play in a mixture of English and Spanish.

PRODUCTION WORKSHOP CLASSES : Using literature as inspiration, we study plot and character through improvisation, ensemble and short scenes. The result is a unique theater experience that brings this wonderful story to life.

The Snow Queen
The timeless appeal of the Snow Queen, one of the most beautiful fairytales ever told, lies in its ability to persuade us into thinking life is truly magical. The wicked Snow Queen casts her icy spell on the world, turns young Kay's heart to ice and takes him away as her eternal prisoner to her Ice Palace at the very top of the world. Gerda, Kay's friend, must journey forever north and brave many dangers in her attempt to save Kay. Along the way Gerda encounters talking ravens, the evil Cobweb Spider, a prince and princess, a band of robbers and the wild robber girl, greedy polar bears and the brave reindeer. This class is offered twice during the holidays.

HOLES
Students experience the play-production process from start to finish. In this series the production theme is based around the book “Holes.” Through the development of an original script students edit and rework the story themselves.

Stanley Yelnats was given a choice. The judge said, "You may go to jail, or you may go to Camp Green Lake." Stanley was from a poor family. He had never been to camp before.

The kids at Camp Green Lake "build character" by spending every day digging holes: 5-feet wide and 5-feet deep. It doesn't take long before Stanley realizes there's more than character improvement going on at Camp Green Lake. The boys are digging holes because the treacherous warden is searching for something, and soon Stanley begins his own search — for the truth. The wheel of justice has ground slowly for generations, but now it's about to reveal itself.
