Below is information on the Summer 2006 program to give you a sense of what the programs are like.

Program Descriptions: Summer 2006

ARTSTART (ages 4-6) - An exceptional interdisciplinary arts class for budding young
artists. Bring classical children’s literature to life through experiences in creative dramatics,
music, visual art and movement. Class emphasizes building self-confidence and cultivating
expression in a creative space. EVERYDAY HEROES explores the world of firemen, policemen,
doctors, teachers and yes, even our parents and the important jobs they do each and every day.MOON MAGIC is a fantastic exploration to outer space as we discover if in fact the moon really is made of green cheese and more.

Peter Pan Puppet Performance (ages 7-12) - Mermaids, fairies, pirates and lots of fantastic elements animate in this puppetry performance class. Fly to Neverland with Peter Pan and Wendy as you learn how to bring puppets to life in this full scale puppet production. Perform with beautifully crafted mouth-and-rod puppets used in professional puppet theater under the direction of Master Puppeteer Dara Thornton.

The Theatrical Time Machine (ages 6-13) - Travel to the farthest reaches of your imagination. Go anywhere - and into any time. With the magic of theatre, transport is easy! Did you ever wonder what it would be like to perform a Shakespeare play, a Greek drama, or make up your own radio play? In addition to acting, we will offer specialized instruction in various forms of stagecraft. After all, what would a good Shakespeare tragedy be without stage combat? On the last day of the session, students share their artistic exploration of the theme with an invited audience.

Project Wonderland (ages 6-15) - A zany retelling of Alice In Wonderland, Project Wonderland is unlike any play we have experienced before. This is a journey into a world of complete illusion, full of fantastic shapes and unreal perspectives. Alice plunges down the rabbit hole and becomes involved in that madcap and deliciously satiric series of adventures immortalized by Lewis Carroll. We create a kaleidoscope of action and madness, with the necessary elements of suspense to make it all work. Warning to all potential audience members: BE READY FOR ANYTHING!

Dead Men Tell No Tales (ages 8-13) - What happens when you combine Captain Jack Sparrow, Long John Silver, Bluebeard and a host of notorious pirate thieves with a group of young playwrights? IMAGINATION SOARS! Join us for the production of the original play created by Pisces Moon young playwrights – sure to be a tale of swashbuckling adventure, fiendish frenzy and terrific treasure--on a dead man’s chest, of course. Drink up, me hearties and see you in the Carribbean.

The Mad Adventures Of Mr. Toad (ages 6-12) - Here is a delightful new version of Kenneth Grahame’s always popular The Wind in the Willows. Toad of Toad Hall is an eccentric but likable chap given to “crazes.” His latest craze involves motorcars. Unfortunately, he smashes them up as fast as he gets them. He even steals one for a wild ride over the countryside. Naturally, this gets him into a great deal of trouble. Once you meet mad Mr. Toad, will never forget him.

Order Of The Phoenix (ages 8-15) - Harry Potter returns to his fifth year at Hogwarts. No one believes his story about Voldemort’s return and Cedric Diggory’s death. To make matters worse, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge, is the most horrible, awful teacher they’ve met. Apparently, the Ministry has put her there to spy on Hogwarts and stop people from believing Voldemort is back. Harry has strange dreams of locked doors and very long hallways. What could it all mean? Using these unforgettable characters as inspiration, we create our own scenes, take Ordinary Wizard Level exams, and participate in Potions and other Hogwarts classes.

Production and Set Design (ages 10-16) - This class is for all students interested in the technical side of theater. Guided by the Pisces Moon Tech Staff and guest designers, students will learn how the “magic” of theater really happens, design and build set, lights, sound and all technical support for the Mad Adventures of Mr. Toad or Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix. Class is limited to 5 participants
