Pisces Moon Productions revived its acclaimed 2002 and 2003 productions of The
Laramie Project to mark the 10-year anniversary of the death
of Matthew Shepard, the victim of a gay hate crime, whose story is told
in the play.
Stunningly effective and deeply moving, The Laramie
Project chronicles, in the words of the people of Laramie, the effect of Matthew's murder on their community and ultimately, the world.
Using nine actors to embody more than eighty
different characters -- from rural ranchers to university
professors -- the result was at once uplifting and heart-rending, exploring the depths to which humanity
can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.
