Dead Man Walking performs on the Cabrillo College MainStage, opening on February 8, 2008 and playing Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. until February 24.
Author Tim Robbins based the play on Sister Helen Prejean’s best-selling
book, where she records her journey as an advisor to a death row
prisoner. The play takes us through Sister Prejean’s personal and
spiritual evolution into both a death penalty opponent and victims
advocate. The Washington Post wrote that Sr.
Prejean’s chronicle was “destined to become the most influential
anti-capital punishment statement”.
